My new bio ..

Max Tsai
Information Architect
CSU Fresno

Max Tsai wears many hats as Information Architect for Fresno's Digital Campus. He's a researcher and implementer of projects such as a campus-wide streaming video system He also leads design and architecture efforts for Fresno's e-portfolio system, which integrates with their LMS and academic content, and he╒s piloting both Moodle and Sakai as the campus evaluates its overall LMS process.

Max was central in determining feasibility of hosting Blackboard on campus instead of ASP. Max led the software/application/migration effort, working closely with a team of staff and management from ITS, CIS, and TLT groups to close out Fresno's Bb ASP system and migrate tens of thousands of users and thousands of courses from Bb ASP to a home system — all in summer 2008. The result is successful beyond expectations, and saves money. Max was the go-to person for understanding the Bb software, configuration, and administration. This additionally involved aspects of load balancing, security, Oracle database administration, and backup/recovery. In the last year, Max's role in several university-wide projects has increased even further. The breadth, depth, and timeliness of his knowledge are remarkable and invaluable to project success.
